Periodic heavy rain makes it worse, because soaked debris sits heavy in the low spots where your lawn already struggles to drain. Junk of Chesapeake hauls yard waste in Chesapeake: we load it, strap it down and sweep up behind us.
What does yard waste removal cost?
Truck space and the length of the carry set the price. A neat pile at the driveway costs less than brush we have to carry by hand from a back corner. The quote is written down before the truck backs in.
Thick limbs and root balls fill the truck faster than leaves and clippings, so they push the price up. So does distance. A tight gate or a long carry from the back of the lot adds labor, and a pile we can back right up to loads quickly. Describe the pile and the route to it, and that's what the price is built on.
A common next step is garage cleanout. Need junk removal in Chesapeake for another job? Start on our home page.

What happens once the crew arrives?
We load the brush and branches into the truck, secure the load with ratchet straps and cargo nets, and sweep the cleared area before we leave. Brush, limbs, pulled weeds and hedge trimmings can all go in the same load. You don't need to bag, sort or drag anything to the curb first.
The straps and nets matter on the road. Loose branches blow off an open load, so everything gets tied down before we pull out. When the last of it is on the truck, we sweep the ground where the pile sat. That leaves the driveway, walkway or patio clear of sticks and leaf litter.

How long will the job take?
Time on site depends mostly on how close the truck can get to the pile. A heap at the end of the driveway loads quickly. Brush spread across a deep backyard, or carried through a narrow gate, takes longer because every armload has to be walked out. Our quote comes with an estimated time on site.
Tangled brush and long limbs also take more handling than loose leaves, since they stack awkwardly and have to be fitted into the load. After a heavy rain, wet debris is heavier to move too, so tell us if the pile has been sitting through a storm.
Does clearing my yard ever need a permit?
Hauling away brush doesn't, but a cleanout that turns into construction can. If clearing the yard is the first step toward altering a structure, confirm permit needs before the work expands.
We haul the debris. We don't pull permits for alteration work. If you're unsure whether your plan counts as alteration, settle that first, then call us when there's material to take away.
Is there anything I should keep out of the pile?
Yes: lithium-ion batteries. Pull them out of any device before the pile is loaded, and keep both the batteries and devices containing them out of household trash and ordinary recycling. They need a separate collection option.
Cordless yard tools are the usual source, so check the shed and the garage corner along with the lawn. Flag anything that might hold a battery when we arrive and it gets set aside.
What's the next step to get my yard cleared?
Call Junk of Chesapeake or send a message with a rough size and the spot the debris is in, such as curb, driveway or back corner. We ask what the debris is and how the truck reaches it, and the written quote follows from those answers. That first contact commits you to nothing.
You also don't have to move a single branch beforehand. We do the lifting, loading, strapping and sweeping.
